*This is an additional premium feature. Please contact your Account Manager for more information.
Introducing a new feature to help with making sentiment more accurate towards your particular industry or brand. This new feature will give you the ability to assign words OR phrases a score based on how positive, neutral, or negative you want a mention scored when it comes to your monitor.
Once this feature is enabled by your account manager only Agency Admins will be able to access the Sentiment Rules tab under your company settings.
*Keep in mind these sentiment scores are set for ALL monitors underneath the company.
Under your company settings, you will see a tab labeled Sentiment rules.
When you want to change the weight of a word to either be Positive, Negative, or Neutral you will begin by selecting the +Add Rule button on the top right-hand side.
Once it has been selected you will see a text box appear with a scale marked Negative > Neutral > Positive.
In the text box on the left, you will put either the phrase OR word you want the sentiment changed for.
*Do NOT use more than one word or phrase per text box.*
After a word or phrase has been entered in the text box you can then assign a score to it. You can choose anywhere from Extremely Negative (which will heavily weigh the mention towards negative) to Extremely Positive (which will heavily weigh the mention score towards positive). The middle will keep the word or phrase with a weight of Neutral. Keep in mind the heavier the sentiment score the more likely the post will be given that score.
*Sentiment is calculated by a score given to every word within a mention so mentions like Tumblr, RSS, News, and Blogs that have a lot of words will have a combined score.*
Once the word has been entered and score assigned, select the Create button.
Once the sentiment customization has been created it will take about an hour for the changes to go into effect.
This will NOT retroactively change any posts that have already come into your monitor, but if you pull historical about an hour after the sentiment rule was made it will pull in all posts according to the newly created score.
If you are needing this sentiment customization for a certain campaign and need it turned off you can always toggle the Active switch to Inactive.
If you are adding several words OR phrases you will need to select the +Add Rule for each one and assign a score and select Save.
