Coming Thursday, November 8th at 5PM MST we will have a new and easier way to create rules within your monitor.
This new functionality will give you the freedom to use Free Form query which will condense a lot of rules and give you the ability to create customized rule sets.
It will also give you the more organized feeling with the ability to create Rule Groups and be able to name each rule set that you can refer back to at later times or share with our users to collaborate on rule creation better. This also gives you the ability to use free form and the old style of Monitors Enterprise rule creation so different users can feel comfortable and empowered in rule creation.
When going to create a new monitor OR edit your monitor you will now see this new screen:
When creating a new monitor select +Add Rule Group. This screen will look familiar to you as the old create monitor screen. You can select to Include Posts With and any rule limitations that were included in the old system.
You can add additional rules into your grouping by selecting +Add Rule Group which will create an AND statement.
If you are wanting to create an OR statement you will need to select the +Add Rule Group button to add a new rule set.
This rule creation is very similar to what you are used to with the same syntax as before, but will help you see new blocks of rules in a very clear and organized format.
We also included some features under the 3 dots for each Rule Group.
The first feature is 'Rename the Rule Group'. This feature will allow you to categorize and explain what each rule grouping includes and add more clarity to your rule sets for other users who may come in and edit the monitor later.
The next feature under the 3 dots is to Enable Free Form Query. Once enabled this will give you Fields to create new rules.
There is an option by the 3 dots for Information on the new rule creation syntax.
The fields listed are able to be queried. Once you select a Field it will give you options for an Operator (ALL, ANY, NOT ANY, NOT ALL). Once an operator is listed you can put in the variable you are hoping to search for. Below is an example of searching for any keyword that matches 'keywords for testing'.
You can continue writing in boolean searches and once that is completed you can hit Save. You can also mismatch Rule Groups with Free Form and the original rule set creations if different team members prefer different ways on rule creation.
Also located under the 3 dots is the option to Delete Rule Group. In case you decide you don't want that rule you created.
The preview on the right hand side will stay the same as before and only show 15 days worth of Twitter data.
You will also notice a SETTINGS tab next to the RULES tab.
This will include Sentiment Category and the Collections screen.
Once you have completed your monitor it will allow you to Save at the top right hand side.
If you are Editing an already existing monitor it will give you the option in the top right hand side to Delete or Pause your monitor.
If you have any further questions or feel you need some additional training on the new rule creation screen please contact support at email@example.com or your account manager to further assist.
