Due to Instagram's API restrictions, posting to Instagram follows a slightly different process. Once a scheduled post reaches it's scheduled publish time, a text message is sent to the phone # associated with the Instagram social profile. The post is then manually entered in via Instagram's native app.
Double-Checking Instagram Integrations - Before posting to Instagram, make sure the company Instagram social profile is connected to Publish via the Integrations page. To navigate to the Integrations page, a user would hover their mouse over the Publish tab, and click on Integrations.
Adding an Instagram Social Profile - On the Instagram tab in the Integrations page, click on the green +Authorize Account button. This will pull up a page where the user enters in the social profile name and the phone # associated with said account. (Generally the user's personal cell phone #.)
Once an Instagram social profile has been added a user can create a post to Instagram. Creating an IG post follows the same rules as creating a post to Facebook or Twitter, but due to Instagram's API restrictions, we're unable to post directly to Instagram.
To bypass this, once a post reaches it's scheduled publish time, a text is sent to the phone # associated with the IG social profile and it then posted through the native app.
As the text prompt suggests, simply copy and paste the post text and link then post them in the Instagram app. For android devices, the user may need to save the image to their phone and then copy the post copy.
